A Preparatory Centre for IAS/IPS aspirants was inaugurated on 1 August 2016 to mark 16th Anniversary of Patrician College of Arts and Science. The centre was named after Bro. Aloysius who rendered yeoman service to the cause of education. The chief guest Thiru S. Nagarajan, Director, ‘e’- Governance and the national topper in UPSC examination, IAS inaugurated the centre. Bro. O. Joseph declared open a dedicated corner for civil services in the college library and donated books essential for preparation. Around 300 civil services aspirants participated in the programme. The centre aims at training the students very rigorously to face UPSC examination.
A meeting was organized for civil services aspirants and members of Reading Club on 15 September 2016 to insist the importance of reading Newspapers for competitive exams. Brother Aloysius Centre conducted a special class on “How to get Current Affairs and General Knowledge from Dailies”. Sixteen students attended the class.
